The Two Witnesses - Revelation 11, Daniel 11:32-35

The two witnesses start in Revelation 11 verse 3. This is after the Peace Treaty of chapter 10, and after the Temple is being measured up ready to be built as part of the treaty. How long after will most likely be a matter of minutes. The orthodox Jews have been waiting for their chance to be able to rebuild the Temple.

Many have wondered and speculated who the two witnesses will be. A common idea put forward is that it will be Moses and Elijah because of the miracles they do by God's power and authority. It is becoming more and more obvious to me in recent years, and more so in the last year, that the two witnesses is actually more than two people. With Two categories of people who know about the peace treaty coming. There are two categories of people in the bible which do God's will and are blessed by Him. These both have the book of Daniel, they are Jews and Gentiles.

The Two Witnesses are referred to as the Two Olive Trees and Two Lamp Stands that stand before the Lord of the Earth. Depending on the translation, but there are only two groups who can "stand" before the Lord of the Earth, and that’s because they do the things which please Him. Another translations says they are in continually in God's presence.

The Psalmist says in 52:8 that he is like an olive tree in the house of God. Another says in 128:3 that his children are like olive plants. Paul in the New Testament says in Romans 11:17 and 11:24, that the Jews are the cultivated olive and the gentiles are the wild olive which is grafted in. When we combine the lamp and the olive tree and see the Old Testament we see the lamps get their oil fuel from the olive tree. There is in fact an artefact described in a vision by Zechariah 4:2-14, which has olive trees as part of the lamp, continually flowing their oil into a bowl which feeds the 7 lamps of the lamp stand to keep the lamps going forever. Jesus says you are the light of the world. The anointing of God is the Holy Spirit and has always been symbolised by being anointed by oil on the forehead.

This link is further confirmed by a mathematical pattern in the chart pointing to this page with them side by side as the 144,000 Jews and the Great Multitude of Gentiles. To go further, Jesus said that all who believed in Him, the works He did, they would do those and greater works than those because He was going to the Father (John 14:12). Paul says that all believers are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Jesus said that He would be with us always, even till the end of the age.

As the bible says that all believers are called "SAINTS" and are made Holy and Pure in God's sight. Jesus said that what ever you do to the least of mankind you do unto God.

Part of taking on any confidence associated power, is having the knowledge that it is possible and that it applies to you personally. Such is called a revelation and is realising what you already had but were not aware of. When a king takes power for the first time, he "assumes" his rightful position and hence receives his power which was already his. He just had to take it. Such is the same with all believers, for if God is our Heavenly Father, then we are His children. He is a God and a King, and we are His offspring. We are in fact like gods, and princes. In an earthly kingdom, a prince has authority under the kings name. He takes up the kingship when his father dies. In an eternal kingdom, we take up kingship when we have learnt enough of the lessons to take on the authority, but always under the head king. The bible says that that Jesus is our head, and He is under God, which is His Head.

Daniel 11:32-35
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

Now when they shall fall, they shall be assisted with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

We see here that some fall in order to purge and purify them. To believe in the protection of God, and to be Christ like, with love and compassion, these will have the fullness of the power of God to protect them. It would seem that those who call others scum and think themselves better than others will be the first to fall. There will be those who follow just because everybody else is doing it and it is expected of them, but their heart is not in it, these too will fall.

Revelation 11:1-14
Then there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, "Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it.
11:2
"Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months.
11:3
"And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
11:4
These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.
11:5
And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way.
11:6
These have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.
11:7
When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them.
11:8
And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
11:9
Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.
11:10
And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
11:11
But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them.
11:12
And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.
11:13
And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
11:14
The second woe is past; behold, the third woe is coming quickly.
